Importing Plan Comparison Data

You can import benefit plan comparison information into the Comparison Field tab of the Benefits Enrollment Plan Details form (Workflow Setup > Benefits Specific > Benefits Enrollment Plan Details).

Note: This import template is available to service providers, worksite managers, and worksite trusted advisors.

To upload and import plan comparison data, do the following:

  1. Click (Back Office), then select Data Import Tool on the Operations|Import Processingmenu.

  2. In the Data Import Tool form, select the Plan Comparison Data import template option.

    When you select the import template that you want, the required file layout displays in the form. Before you can upload and import data, your file must be saved in either comma-separated values (.csv) tabular format or text tab delimited (.txt) format with no spaces or special characters in the file name. (Note: You can click Download Sample Header File to download a sample Excel data file in .csv format, which can be saved in either .csv or .txt format before importing it. The sample file contains the Plan ID and Effective Date columns plus additional columns based on the Category Descriptions found for the selected Offer Type. It also includes additional fields at the end of the sample header file which can be imported into the fields in the Additional Plan Details section on the Benefit Enrollment Plan Details form. For a particular Offer Type, you can view the names of the fields in the Additional Plan Details section of the Benefit Enrollment Plan Details form under the Category Description column on the Data Import Tool form.)

    The layout requirements are:

    Column Number

    The corresponding column number for the imported data.

    Category Description

    Plan ID (required): Unique identifiers for the Benefit Plan IDs being compared.
    Effective Date (required): Effective dates for the benefit plans being compared.

    Note: Additional Category Descriptions may appear in the file layout. These represent optional columns and will vary based on the Category Descriptions found on the Details tab of the Benefits Enrollment Plan Details form for the selected Offer Type.
