Defining W/C Accrual Modifiers

You can define how the system handles when the wages of the client's employees are not sufficient to support a benefit deduction. In these cases, use the W/C Accrual Modifiers form to define workers’ compensation accrual modifiers that the client uses.

W/C accrual modifiers are required:

For states that require client reporting of workers’ compensation accrual
When the workers’ compensation policy or Client Details stipulates the use of a modifier and discounts

To set W/C Accrual Modifiers:

1. Select Client.
2. From Client|Change, select W/C Accrual Modifiers.

3. Fill in the required information in these fields.

Field Description
State Code Enter a two-character state code, or select it from the drop-down.
Effective Date Enter a date when the bill rate goes into effect, or select an existing date to edit.
Discount/Debit Enter the employer's Discount/Debit for this state.
Modifier Enter the employer's Modifier for this state.
Effective Rate The Effective Rate is calculated by multiplying the Discount/Debit by the Modifier.
4. Click Save.
